NacreInk Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the NacreInk app and related cloud services collect, use, retain, and protect information.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address and a system-generated account ID for registration, sign-in, email verification, and password recovery.
- Device information: the name, model, MAC address, firmware version, battery status, and connection time of E-Ink devices you connect or bind.
- Connection information: server-side IP address and IP-derived coarse country, region, or city for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. We do not use GPS or Bluetooth scan results to determine precise location.
- Local images and edits: selected images, text cards, and editing history are mainly processed and stored on your device. Normal image transfer does not upload private images to our server.
- AI creation content: prompts, selected style, and generation parameters are sent to NacreInk and then to the currently enabled AI service provider only when you are signed in and actively use AI creation. Providers may include Pollinations, OpenAI, Google, Stability AI, or Replicate.
- AI safety reports: when you report an offensive or unsafe generated image, we retain a compressed preview of that generated image, the related prompt, AI provider, report reason, account ID, and report time for safety review and content-filter improvement.

3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide account, device connection, gallery, version check, firmware update, and AI creation services, and to troubleshoot connectivity, prevent abuse, and protect service security.
4. Sharing and Sale
We do not sell personal information. Normal E-Ink image transfer does not upload private images to NacreInk. When you request AI creation, the necessary prompt and generation parameters are processed by the currently enabled AI service provider solely to fulfill that request. We otherwise disclose only information necessary with consent, to comply with law, or to protect service security.
5. Security
We use HTTPS, password hashing, Android Keystore encryption for sign-in tokens, admin access controls, and least-privilege configurations. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Retention and Deletion
We retain account and device data only as needed to provide the service and meet necessary legal or security obligations. Ordinary AI generation requests are not stored as account creation history in the NacreInk database. Safety reports are retained until reviewed and are deleted with the account. Upstream AI providers may process or temporarily retain requests under their own privacy policies. Delete your account in App Settings or visit the account deletion page.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.
